The fish sandwiches here are great as are the burgers. Prices are reasonable. It's is so noisy you can't hear the person you are seated with during week nights. They do offer a spectacular Sunday brunch for a great price to which friends and I go often. It includes many items such as hot brown casserole which are not on the normal menu. They also generally have mimosa's on sale as well on Sunday and it is a LOT quieter atmosphere. Definitely recommend it!

I have been in for 3 visits now and it's been good every time but the Sunday Brunch buffet is the sticking point. Total without tip for the entire buffet plus drink ran $14.79 per person. It's well worth it. This is country food. Make no mistake. The Hot Brown casserole, Bread Pudding, and Stewed Maters should tell you that. Be sure to get there early and on a nice day grab a seat out on the patio. The view is relaxing and the staff makes you feel at home. This place has a bar so for you drinkers it will keep you happy too. Easily one of Louisville's must visit dives.

Nice creek views, enormous portions. Fried chicken was good, but fish wasn't fit to eat. If I go back, will split a fried chicken dinner and have more than enough.

This was one awful dining experience. Even the tossed salad was bad. Overcooked fish, burnt tasting green beans, and bad service. Is it possible to rate a negative star?

I had never heard of this place but acquired a coupon so we drove on out to Prospect to give it a try. Weekday at 6pm and it was a challenge to find a parking spot. Although it was probably the nicest evening of the year, I suspect their outdoor seating options helped attract the business...... that HAD to be why. We didn't score an outside spot and were advised that there was some tech issue which would require cash or check. We forged on and were seated in the back room. The tables have seen better days. Vinyl covered with knicks and stains and wobbled. Not a good 1st impression. We were waited on fairly quickly. The menu was a little different than I saw online and their offerings scaled down quite a lot from their now closed downtown location. The fish sandwich was VERY good and I could tell from surrounding tables ordering such, that must be their renowned offering.... didnt get my mac n' cheese. My dinner date ordered the hot turkey sandwich and it was very generic. Instant mashed potatoes, can gravy with dry mac & cheese. He also ordered onion rings which he had to remind the waitress about because they were not brought with his meal, and like previous reviews, were overcooked (he said the worse he has ever had). We were over charged $2 since never got my mac & cheese, but hey... we did have a discount coupon so let it go. I figure this is an okay place if you live in the area or are on the river boating and just need a bite. We, however were not impressed enough to drive across town to revisit. Ambiance or not!

I am not sure how these folks stay in business serving customers fish like this. Respectfully, the fish was dry, over cooked and hard as a rock. Horrible to say the least! I could only eat a portion of mine; but only because I was starving. I will say the fries and the cole slaw were good. I went with a group of friends and their onion rings were cold. I will go down the road to captains quarters next time!

The fish sandwich here is probably the best thing on the menu. The rolled oysters were not, too over-fried and very little oyster in each. Good service and cold beer will keep you coming back for more!

No wait to be seated on a Tuesday. My salad was brown. I ordered the grilled chicken which is served on rice ... The rice was still crunchy & the chicken was tasteless and flat. My boyfriend got a club ... Decent but the turkey was dark meat? Then we tried to order onion rings .... Bad idea again. The server was nice she comped my margarita that was juice. This place used to be awesome but the food matches the quality of the water in the Ohio river. We won't be back.

This place is a hidden gem with delicious local cuisine and comfort food. Great service. Exceptional Sunday lunch buffet.

Relatively busy Sunday afternoon for lunch. (April 13) Just to be clear, I wasn't expecting gourmet food. What I was expecting: - Not have our order lost - After 25 minutes, not being asked, "what did you order again?" and have to reorder. - 15 minutes later, not being told, "We won't do a grilled fish sandwich" and placing another order. - 10 minutes later, not receiving our order, including the impossible-to-make grilled fish sandwich. - 5 minutes later, not receiving a replacement sandwich to which we're told, "we can remove it from your bill". - Not being charged for said replacement sandwich and an additional round of drinks we didn't order. - Not being answered curtly and as if we're a bother. I 100% understand that things happen but this was the worst service I've ever experienced in five years of living in Kentucky.

Awful. The restaurant sits on a quiet creek inlet. There is outside dining which is perfect for watching boaters float past. Unfortunately for us we didn't make it past the hostess seating diners. We were greeted by a sullen faced waitress who let it be known in no uncertain terms we were not welcome as "the kitchen closes in 4mins!" (Even though the restaurant was open for at least another hour). She made no effort to be courteous or polite and left us no alternative but to leave. Save yourself the trouble and go directly to Captains Quarters close by. THEY have wonderful service, polite. Staff and delicious food. Waterfront dining at its best.

I went to Cunninghams last night, ordered a beer, it had lipstick on it. The waitress brought another one, it was fine. Ordered another beer with dinner, got the same lipstick glass again! Waitress said I wouldn't be charged for it. What a relief, I wasn't going to have to pay for beer in a nasty glass. The food was ok, service was fair.

The fish is pretty good. Not too much batter. I would like it to be thinner filets (yeah I'm weird like that)but the taste was OK. The 2nd time I went I had their pulled pork. It had a nice flavor. The view from the deck makes it a 4. Very calm and peaceful. Seemed like a relaxing atmosphere (I went at lunch). More of a Florida oceanside small restaurant feel.

My wife and I visited Cunningham's Creekside restaurant for lunch on Wednesday, August 21st. We arrived during the noon time lunch rush. The restaurant was crowded and very busy. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server promptly got our drink orders and brought them to us quickly. Cunningham's is known for their whitefish sandwich and that is what we both ordered. We also ordered some onion rings as their's are usually pretty good. Even though the place was packed, our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Everything was just as we had ordered and our server made sure we were pleased. The fish sandwich is large, fried to a golden brown, moist under the crisp breading and was not greasy. The fish and breading had a very good flavor. Add some of their homemade tartar sauce and everything was excellent. Even the bread was fresh enough to support my large sandwich without falling apart. As good as the fish was, the onion rings were even better. Hot, crisp and not greasy the flavor of the breading was good enough that no ketchup or sauce was needed. The onion had a slightly sweet flavor and were quite good. Just crisp flavorful onion rings. The whitefish sandwich also includes potato chips and a pickle. The chip were Ruffle's style chips and were fresh. I love their pickles! Tart and crisp they compliment the fish very well. So I recommend Cunningham's Creekside very highly. It's a hole in the wall type of place that sits on Harrod's Creek. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Boats pull up and dock from time to time. Just a nice friendly place. If you don't believe me just check the parking lot. That usually tells you all you need to know about a restaurant.

Was checking out reviews for a birthday trip to Cunningham's which was rated high for atmosphere, taste and value by my brother and came across the review that claims they have the former Dairy Kastle owner for an uncle. Interestingly enough, I lay claim to that too! I even worked there a couple of seasons way back when.

This was a tough one. 3 stars. 4 stars. So let's break it down. It is out there, but a really pretty drive. We road on the back of some Harleys. It was one of those randomly awesome weekends in Louisville. For that matter this last year has been one extended randomly awesome weekend. I digress. Scenery: Win Atmosphere inside: Neutral The eggs, grits, standard breakfast stuff: Loss (pretty much equated to the powder stuff you get at a cheap hotel) Hot Brown Casserole: What a win. This almost gave it that 4th star. But it is too heavy to have more than a little bit of, and the other stuff didn't hold their end of the bargain Definitely worth checking out. Won't be my go to for brunch, but man that casserole. You gotta try it. Maybe just get one order of it and some fruit for the table to share instead of paying the 15ish bucks for the buffet. Geez, I know it'll kill me quicker, but I'll take my chances.

The food was awful. I chose this place based on the other reviews. I got the fish sandwich everyone said was the best item on the menu and it wasn't cooked all the way, the coleslaw had a hair in it, and nobody seemed too thrilled with the other food. Afterward I talked to a regular who said it's gone downhill. I wish I would have known that prior to visiting.

First stop on the "Tour de Classic Louisville Establishments with My Ballin' Uncle, Former Dairy Kastle Owner." (If you are familiar with Dairy Kastle and the longstanding history of his place on Eastern Parkway, you can imagine my excitement when he volunteered to show me his all-time favorite places in Louisville for food and drinks.) Anywho, long introduction aside, this place was perfect for dinner for our group of six. We ate on the covered patio, complete with cozy heaters, on a very chilly night to enjoy the view of the river. Ambiance was great for our lively, chatty group on a late evening.. but probably not the best spot for quiet reflection or romancin'. My uncle says their best menu item is the fish sandwich, hands-down. But I'm a rebel and went for the whitefish. Very happy with my choice, and had enough food for lunch the next day too (and I rarely do not finish my plate.) Everyone in our party was satisfied, particularly those that opted for the fish sandwich that was suggested. Good food and large portions. My only complaint - The fries were kind of bland. And wouldn't ya know it, they have bunches of TVs around the bar... and if you've read any of my reviews, you know I'm always on the lookout for a good sports bar. Big bonus.

Asked for a Reuben and requested fries in place of the potato chips (which are a cop out as a side item). I was shocked to see that I was charged the full price for the fries and said to the waitress that every place I've ever been to only charges $.60 - $1.00 to substitute for fries, and if she's going to charge full price I should've received my chips too. She said, "oh, that makes sense, but our owner's a cheapskate." 'Nuff said. I have a problem paying almost $10 for a handful of fries and a Reuben the size of a PB&J made at home - I had grown to like this place because of the quality and quantity, and the friendly neighborhood feel, but that has changed. Two stars, only because the corned beef on the Reuben was good.

This place has a very nice Sunday buffet with lunch and breakfast. Dinner is good, too. Lots of nice places to sit down by the creek, but room inside, too. The acoustics inside are horrible, so it can get pretty loud, since most of the inside it taken up by a bar and people will show up to watch the game on TV, so this is not a romantic type of place.

Been here a few times, so I must like something about this waterside restaurant. The menu has a good mix of food and the prices are right. Their club sandwich is traditional, but exceptional. Soups are very good. Have not tried many menu items yet, but visually, as serves bring by other diners lunch or dinner, most things look tasty. There is a neighborhood feel about the restaurant. Seem like a friendly place. Will go back, but mostly for lunch or for a get together with friends.

Saturday evening four of us ate here about 8:00 pm. The place was crowded and the noisiest joint I've been to in a long time. The server forgot an appetizer we ordered and did not apologize or acknowledge his error. Drinkers at the bar were practically shouting. My fish sandwich platter was mediocre. The onion rings were so old and over cooked and petrified I could not eat them. Yet one of us four got decent and fresh onion rings. My fish was edible But my friend J had to spit out parts of his fish plank-too tough. L ordered fried oysters and they were not hand breaded. Looked very processed. My mac n cheese was not tasty. Two of us got luke warm average fries. In my opinion the owners have no apparent sense of pride in managing a restaurant. It was a total waste of time and money for me.

Nice go to play to sit outside for drinks and fried fish. Good view of Harrod's Creek and plenty of friendly Louisvillians!

Cunningham's is good, no frills, no fuss kinda food. You're not gonna find gastriques, molecular gastronomy or anything like that here. There's nothing fancy about it. Its just good food. Everything I've had on the menu is good, but the grilled whitefish dinner is my favorite thing on the menu. It's flaky, buttery, and a good portion size. Cunningham's is the perfect place to sit on their patio overlooking Harrods Creek, grab dinner and a cold beer, and let the stress of the day melt away.

The view was great for a late summer night! The food was decent, nothing to special, reasonable prices. The service was a little slow for food and the drinks. All in all, nice little hole in the wall restaurant on the creek

Service/Atmosphere - 4/5 - This place could be considered a little hole in the wall, or a hidden gem on the scenic Harrods Creek (wonderful during the summer time). There's plenty of TVs for sports, and the staff is very accommodating. The building could use some upgrades however...especially that bathroom lol. The bartenders have always been super friendly and I've never encountered rudeness. Food/Menu - 3.8 - 4/5 - There's some room for variety here. They have a great Sunday brunch which is always stocked with fresh food (fried chicken, fried fish, eggs, bacon, sausage, salads/fruit, dessert) and their bar starts serving @ 10am on Sundays which is a bonus. Very southern...hits the spot. Now...if you're not joining them for a Sunday brunch, then you're entering a southern steakhouse with classic dishes, like smothered chopped sirloin, grilled/fried grouper, and a nice t-bone. The location downtown was like my Cheers for years...sorry to see them close, but I doubt the creekside location will run into the same issues. The Cunningham's brand is not quite what it used to be...but it has this home-style feel that EVERYONE can appreciate. OVERALL - 3.8/5

It was this past Sunday around 530 and it was busy, but not packed. We didn't wait for a table, which was nice. We did wait about 5 minutes for a server, but it was obvious that they were understaffed. From the time of order until the time the appetizer (shrimp cocktail) it was around 20 minutes. That's not the issue however, I've never seen a shrimp cocktail served over a small bed of lettuce in a bowl. The cocktail sauce came in a plastic ramekin. My fiancé and I both took a shrimp and ate it and then discovered that in addition to the 5 shrimp that were in the bowl, were 3 extra shrimp tails. Eewww. The meal came shortly thereafter, with the main course arriving BEFORE my salad. I got the salmon and the flavor was so so, but it was overcooked as it was very, very dry. Wasn't impressed with the service, food, ambience or the two piles of vomit in the parking lot on the way back out to our car. We won't return. Good luck if you eat here.

I love Cunningham's Creekside WAY BETTER than Cunningham's downtown. On Sunday's they have mimosa's and a brunch buffet. They have fantastic fish sandwich and cheap burgers. It's also great in the summertime to set down by the dock on the picnic tables and drink buckets of beer. The service is really laid back and everyone is super nice. It's not fancy and most things are served with chips but if you can splurge a $1.99 I suggest adding some onion rings :)
